EMEL (parking company) sent me here to change address on my car documents. They told they have no such service already five years. Trying to change the address already one month and none of the institutions have those service, just writing fines for illegal parking. Shame on you Portugal. Advertising yourself as best destination for expats and not giving them anything

shame IMT, shame Portugal. This is first world! this is digital! Its 8:30 now and office will open 9:00 and que is almost 200 metres long. why people need to come to your office directly? why its not digital (online and postal)?

This must be the worst government agency in Portugal. Impossible to contact, impossible to understand how to renew a driver license during covid. The telephone contact number goes to the cemetery (a well known fact in Portugal). At this time (August of 2020) there is no way to follow the web site directions for scheduling in person (which seems to be required) during this period of covid. Neither the email addresses work, nor the contact form. In addition, the new address in Lisbon is not on Google Maps. It is no longer at Elias Garcia. I had to go to a driver school to get the correct location. Anybody who gives more than one star of review must have been high on something to give any kind of seemingly positive comment. By the way, don't bother making a complaint by email to the 'Provedor de Justicia'. Leads to nothing. Good luck to anybody here for dealing with the IMTT.

One of the worst public services I have experienced here in Portugal in 3 years! The staff don’t have a clue about the process or what they are doing. I’m trying to transfer my driver license and it has been such a hassle, since it’s impossible to resolve anything by e-mail and the service at the office is even worse. Pure garbage!

So far, totally negative. I asked if they speak English - she responded - only Portuguese. I started using Google translate with Portuguese - she turned on the Auto Response - and it's after 35 min of waiting for my turn to speak with the operator - it's disrespectful! And they know there are many people arriving from Ukraine who do not speak Portuguese yet. How arrogant is that!

Joining the chorus here, but truly mind-blowing how inefficient and incapable this bureaucracy is. It takes (literally) years to get an email response, have spend at least five hours on the phone trying to get through and still no luck and when you go in person, it's a full day of waiting (if you arrive two hours before opening) only to be told to contact them online. Hire more people, open more offices, and make automated online systems where people can book their own appointments. Ah and when you're lucky enough to get a response (years later), they tell you that your application is rejected because your papers have expired. It's a joke

It's a joke ... 3 months to tell me they are missing a document... They are probably underpaid but this is the pure exemple of Portuguese bureaucracy .... It's a nightmare, better go back to your country to get an european driving license because if you count on them you'll stay without license for a year. Personally i filed an official complain to the minister responsible for this service because it's a shame
