★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I only want to highlight a few things which I feel are not cool:
- sometimes meat is on the edge of expiration (smells bad, looks bad), be cautious, I dumped things a few times
- meat has a high water content (look how shiny it is) which points to poor production standards
- "delikatessen" are below par, that includes the japanese counter. Is someone from the company actually tasting all the stuff they sell?
- there is a new crew at the BBQ and since then you get burned chicked all the time (just watch out). I walked away from the BBQ many times lately
Summary
Intermarché is the better supermarket chain especially in the Algarve. But many things which make this the better place are going wrong.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great supermarket, with a huge variety. They have a cafe, fresh fish, ham and cheese counters and lots of good pastries. We got 4 pastrl de nata for 0.68€ and they were really good! They also have lots of packaged, quick snack options ranging from fruits, sushi, portuguese food, sandwiches, wraps and salads. They also have a cafe and gas station.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ More expensive than Aldi and lidl but more choice. Excellent shopping experience, masks worn by everybody, tills cleaned regularly. Plenty of parking and the cheapest fuel in the area. Well worth a stroll. Very good selection of wine

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fine supermarket that has everything you need. Loads of freshly made products, proper fish department, loads of cheese. I am especially happy to so much bio products. This market is a bit more pricey than others, but I'm a happy regular anyway

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A lovely clean shopping experience, if not a bit expensive. I wish that all the related products were grouped together, instead of being in several places around the store. Great selection of fresh foods.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A really well stocked supermarket. Cheese counter, fish counter, butchers, pizzeria, and other fresh baked goods available too. There's a florist, a cafe...you can even buy washing machines. Luckily I was staying 2 minutes from this shop, so it was easy to get hold of anything I forgot to bring on holiday. There's also self service available with English translation.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Large supermarket with a very wide array of products. It has fresh fish, butcher, vegetables, fruits, bakery and many other sections. It has a take-away section where you can buy readymade food including on-the-spot charcoal grilled chicken. It also has a very "respectable" wine and spirits selection (in a dedicated area). It also has a self-service checkout machines where you may avoid some queueing.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This Intermarché looks absolutely super! It’s clean and tidy. The staff is smiling and the ladies by the registers are friendly. The assortment is very good. Especially the wine department. They offer a wide selection of wines. There are enough parking places around the supermarket where you can park your car or bike. By the entrance of the supermarket you can even buy fresh flowers!
