★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Incredible tapas, great desserts and perfect service. We just stumbled on it while in town and it was one of our best meals in Portugal! Go here if you are in the area.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We stumbled upon this place on our first night in town. Unable to read any Portuguese, we asked the waiter for some recommendations. He surprised us with three tapas dishes that turned out to be the best tapas dishes I have ever tasted. The hospitality and attentiveness of the staff was extraordinary. We ended our delightful meal with the drunken pear Portuguese dessert. A great way to end a unique and memorable dinner.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My husband and I had dinner here but the entire experience was soured by a few things. The food was delicious. The shrimp appetizer was amazing and we had a great start.
But a few things started ruining the experience:
1. We don’t speak Portuguese and they didn’t have an English menu. We depended on their waiter to help us out and he recommended great dishes, but he got some things wrong. We wanted to have half portion of the fish to share and he ordered a full portion instead (which was double the price). My husband insisted to make sure we get a half size that we share, still we received the full portion.
2. We asked for a great wine to pair with our food and the waiter brought to us two options. He said that one bottle is €30 and the other one is €15 or €16. We chose the cheaper one but when the bill came it turned out that the bottle was €26.
3. Not sure if this is a cultural thing, but we were brought olives and olive oil with bread, as well as a few slices of a pie with ham which we didn’t order, but we were charged €6.50 for. We travelled to countries all over the world and when food is put on our table like bread and olive oil we are not charged for it because we didn’t order it.
When we asked about the portion of the fish, the waiter apologized and said it was a misunderstanding. To compensate, we received two glasses of port wine.
When we asked for the bill, a different waiter brought it to us and he also showed us the price of the wine from a menu which we were not shown before. We told him we never saw that menu as it was never brought to us, so he removed €10 from the original bill.
If only one of those things would have happened, most probably my husband and I would have overlooked it, but since they just kept adding, it really soured our experience.
The food there was amazing and I totally recommend it for that, but if you don’t speak Portuguese pay more attention to what you order and ask for the wine menu.
