About Lisbon Sports Club
Também no atletismo o clube foi pioneiro, organizando o primeiro meeting em Portugal, antes ainda da existência da Federação Portuguesa de Atletismo. Com tantas modalidades e com um nome tão redutor, o Lisbon Cricket Club resolveu substituir a palavra “Cricket” pela palavra “Sports”, e em 1922 assume o seu nome eclético e definitivo: Lisbon Sports Club.
Com a expansão da cidade, o clube foi obrigado a mudar de casa várias vezes. Começou no Campo Pequeno, passou pela Cruz Quebrada, esteve muito tempo na Ajuda, até se instalar definitivamente na Serra da Carregueira, em Belas.
O golfe é hoje a principal actividade desportiva e a história do golfe nacional está muito ligada ao Lisbon Sports Club, que foi um dos fundadores da Federação Portuguesa de Golfe. O clube mantém ainda hoje a sua herança britânica, sendo detido e gerido pelos seus próprios membros.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Firstly I found the staff at reception and then in the restaurant very welcoming indeed. As a golf challenge its not as long as neighbour Belas gc but nonetheless possessing its very own personality and challenges. It really is a hidden gem and offers a worthy challenge for all handicaps. Set in its own tree lined but generous fairways and smallish greens the ambiance is an old English design and your 18 holes played in a world away from the hustle and bustle of some of the busier courses without any of the near city external noisy intrusions. Play it once and you will want to play it again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very challenging course as the shop attendant said "play with your head and not your heart". It is a very beautiful track, secluded and the greens were in very good shape. I wish I could rate it 4.5 but that is not an option on Google!
