Madam Bō Handmade Dumplings

Absolute perfection- we had 8 dumplings and a side each which was a perfect amount. Best food we had in LIsbon as vegans! Can't wait to come back.

Went to buy four of each, they told me to wait 15 minutes, but call me after 30 minutes. They put me edamame and just two dumplings, I told them and they gave me other box, but four were missing. Then I called the restaurant and no solution was given, just come tomorrow. Of course the dumpling were cold and undercooked. There are plenty of other places near were you can eat the same thing better.

Had higher expectations given the reviews but on second glance, I’m wondering if these reviewers know what constitutes a good dumpling. The dumplings were pretty, well-pinched and the skins were thin, however it was really difficult to tell the pork, chicken and beef dumplings apart because they were unbelievably salty and the very soft paste-like consistency of the meat was basically the same for all three of these varieties. The prawn dumplings were the best as you could tell it was prawn but the flavour was pretty much the same. We also got the hot and sour soup which was basically sour but not spicy and the smacked cucumber salad which again missed heat. I guess both dishes cater to the Portuguese palate which is not I’m presuming is not too used to chilli.

Quality is amazing, and the price is not too shabby. Maybe the best dumplings in town, already? Get there before it gets too crowded as the place is quite small. You will definitely enjoy it!

What a nice and kind place in an alley next to the main road between Rato and Prinçipe Real, Rua da Escola Politécnica. Joana at the counter is open hearted and makes you feel good from the very beginning. Beverage and food is well prepared and served and it’s a great tasteful experience to try the different sorts of dumplings. We went for cold tea and dumplings with pork, veal, chicken and shrimps. It‘s strongly recommended to give a shot to the different homemade sauces. Along the classic dumpling sauce, which is included with every offer, we had sweet sour and hot chili. Before the main course we tried the crisp cabbage salad, made with only fresh veggies, sesame and peanuts and served finished with a tasty dressing. As good as the all that above told has been, the pinnacle came with dessert. Mousse da Matcha was a complete new experience to us and this creation is nothing less than great. It’s topped with homemade croquant and it’s hard to withstand the drive to pick the rest from the bowl by tongue. Madame Bō ist in business since less than a year only and started with delivery only. Since May this year there is the little restaurant which offers twelve places for indoor dining. Of course, you can get all things from the menu for take away, if you like. Thanks for this experience and take it as a promise: this wasn’t surely not the last time we payed you a visit.

Nice concept! Fresh ingredients, good price value, and friendly service. I tried every kind of dumpling instead of the prawn ones. They were all delicious, the veggie dumplings could be spiced a bit more for my taste.

Delicious dumplings, we ordered the combo for two and it was more than enough. Really good prices, the quality totally unexpected really awesome, the use good products and the service was good and fast. My favorite dumpling was shrimp and vegetables, pork, beef and chicken were also good and in that order odd preference. The spicy soup really good too also the miso. The place is small, you can order to eat in or to go. Totally recommend if you want to eat good dumplings ???
