Maika’i the good food place - N247 58

The pokes are great, the ceviche was sold out. The toast are big and tasty but the bread a bit dry.

Really good burger, nice craft beer and good service. I particularly appreciated that when I asked for medium rare, it came perfectly medium rare.

We like this place. Friendly atmosphere, good imaginative food.

Great beer on tap from the neighboring brewery Mean Sardine, but the food was disgusting and did not smell fresh. Come for a beer…that’s about it!

I’m rarely drawn to leave a bad review, unless it’s outstanding. We sat down with my husband and our 2-year old. After 10 mins no one paying attention to us we went to ask for the menu or get some attention, there was only one other table inside, the staff didn’t seem busy. We got the menus as we asked, there was no kids options on the menu, though it looked promising and I looked up pictures on google, the food looked great, the reviews were good, we also were drawn by the craft beer made on sight. Half of kraft beer menu wasn’t available , we were offered a smaller burger option for kids. My husband ordered a full burger and I got tom yum, particularly because I saw it on the previous pictures on google and it looked good. nachos dips and couvert came fast, but it can’t take long really. The food took really long. Our baby was hungry, but kid burger for a baby came all raw! We sent it back. My husband’s burger was absolutely raw, he didn’t send it back only because he was too hungry he said. He wasn’t asked before how he wanted it, but definitely it shouldn’t be raw meat by default. My Tom yum was just dissapointment. Soggy bok choy, looks like been reheated many times since cooked few days ago. With overcooked noodles and over salted broth, way too much. In the end 1hr later baby’s well cooked burger arrived, by that time she was already desperate for food and starting tantrums as babies do when they have to wait longer than parents for food and there was nothing meanwhile for them to snack. We were very surprised as the new 58 shop looks amazing and it’s such a good idea to have it all together and you can see there are lots of surf/skate families hanging out so they should be used to families with kids. My review applies to the kitchen at first place, the service was a bit better but lacking attention and communication with the kitchen.

Definitely recommendable for the food, we especially loved the Tuna loin!!! Acai Bowl could have been a little less sweet, but still good. Coffee was good as well Nice terrace without wind perfect to warm up after surf session

Disappointed in the service, especially since this place was recommended by a friend. I sat and asked for the craft beer menu. The lady said she didnt have one (even though on the menu it literally says to ask for it) and she gave me 3 or 4 options. Okay that was fine, i ordered a drink. Then i asked to order food and she said the kitchen wasnt opening until 12 (it was exactly 11:45). So i said thats fine ill wait. Then 3 minutes later she proceeded to bring 2 different people orders of food... so that was weird. I waited until after 12. She never came back to ask of i wanted food so i paid for the drink and left.

Amazing food. All fresh and delicious! Highly recommended:)
