★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Positive: This hostel is the best choice. The location and the interior is fabulous. Best for anyone who wants to spend time at the beach. One can hear waves crashing and watch sunsets almost from the doorstep. If interested in surfing - the owner is a surf instructor - super helpful, fun and nice. You will be well taken care of here..

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Positive: The hostel was literally 50m from the beach! Bruno was very welcoming and it felt instantly like home. He gave me a private room with balcony access even though I booked a 4-bed dorm. It was possible to book a surf lesson with him as well as just rent a board and wetsuit. I booked another night because I didn't want to leave this place. I'll definitely come back next year!.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Positive: We were one night at Maria’s Hostel and Surf and had a wonderful stay. The communication was superb and Bruno and Henrique were very friendly. We got such a nice breakfast in the morning and felt warmly welcomed. The accommodation got everything we needed. Nice and cozy room with a private bathroom and kitchen was fully equipped. Highly recommend this place..

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We stayed at Marias for 6 days and took surf lessons every day. Bruno and his stuff are very professional. They exactly know where to surf at which time of the day. We always felt very well supported and secure during surf lessons. You could easily borrow a surfboard and a wetsuit if you want to exercise more. Even bikes, longboards and SUPs are available (if you ask Bruno nicely, he will take you on a SUP tour to the Aveiro lagoon).

Great hostel to surf and make friends or just to spend the night. Will certainly come back :)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Me and my boyfriend stayed at Marias for two weeks. We had a wonderful holiday. Bruno and his people are great hosts. The hostel is neat and clean, perfect location at the beach. We visited 3different beaches for the surfing lessons. Bruno is a very good teacher. We learned a lot in two weeks. We really enjoyed it and are hocked to surf more. The place is not touristic and crowded but there are plenty restaurants, all of them had great food and were cheap.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The surf house is great and very clean. Bruno is very cool. The good thing is that it is not too big so it has a very chill atmosphere and you quickly feel like at home. You can use the kitchen to cook and store your food. The surf spot right in front has a very good left and some rights. There are also many facilities around like surf shops, supermarket, restaurants. You'll definitely like it.
