didn't appreciate the service, it seemed like staff was ignoring our table although we were there for a birthday dinner. Does not offer a big variety of options, no vegetarian options also. Offers good traditional portuguese food.

It was a Sunday night and my friend and I had just arrived in Porto. We chose to dine at Migalhas as it was relatively busy with seemingly happy diners. The food is okay. I had the Codfish - Braga Style. The fish was flaky and paired with thinly cut crispy potato sheets. One of my key complaints about their seafood dishes is that the fish was not deboned (for neither my friend nor I. As mentioned in previous reviews, you are served with items before your meal (even if you didn't order it). We had clarified with our server that those items were not complementary. If you chose to eat it, then you will be charged (I cannot speak of this as we had chosen to opt out). Migalhas fed us well (large portions) but if you're not in a time pinch, I suggest that you take your time to walk down the hill and explore other restaurant options.

Service was very slow, we waited more than half an hour for the dish and it wasn't crowded at this moment. When it finally arrived it was just bad. My boyfriend's codfish was overcoocked and hard to chew with greasy potato chips, I ordered salmon and somehow it was also difficult to eat, I got difficulties with cutting it using the knife, it was also very salty. Price isn't very good as well, you can easily eat better food in Porto without spending that much. All in all I have to admit that the service was very friendly but they have to try a little harder.

First day in Porto, I had to go to try again this beefsteak never disappoints me. Must try beefsteak.

Food quality was good, portions were big and prices were reasonable. We had Dorado that was grilled with crispy skin but a bit heavy on the spices on the skin. It came with whole new potatoes and a mix of cabbage and carrots. The pork dish was tasty but very fatty. It came with side salad and fresh fried potatoes chips, which were crispy and tasty. Service was friendly but it took a bit for the food to arrive although there was only 5-6 tables occupied. It appeared that the kitchen was preparing the food one table at a time, which of course shows that your dishes are prepared to order but at that pace I can imagine you'll have to wait a long time if 15-20 tables were occupied. BTW, this restaurant does not take international credit cards, so be prepared to pay cash if you're visiting from outside Portugal. 2017-12-12. We went back for a late lunch and they did not disappoint. We had chicken with pepper sauce and steak with property sauce. Each came with French fries. They were cooked perfectly and it tasted great.
