The two owners have great ideas and ambition, and after staying here you can only wish them the best of success and a quick improvement of the pandemic situation. If you stay in Coimbra, give this place a try, you won't regret it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Our stay at Monte Rubiu Guesthouse was a wonderful experience. The accommodations were very nice but the best part of our visit was the breakfast in the morning. The rooms are modern and very nice. Ana is a wonderful hostess because not only was our breakfast very tasty, but also the information she shared about Coimbra and the surrounding area was extremely interesting. We would highly recommend this unique place for an overnight visit or an extended stay and we would definitely like to visit them again soon!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We've had a triple room this summer for a one-night stay. Neat and clean with a nice terrace with a view on the ancient part of the town. The owners are two girls with a gift for preparing cookies. Breakfast was really amazing. I warmly suggest this place

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If you ever in Coimbra, you should stay at this place. Ana Maia which I believe to be the owner was the sweetest from the beginning. She asked when we are planning to come, and set the room according to that (before check in time). She gave us recommendations to restaurantes around town and was just in general the most helpful, nice and caring owner I have ever met. Other than that the guesthouse was super clean, towels were big and soft and the location was perfect. 3 minutes walk from the main street, and about 10 minutes walk from the university. Also free parking on the street is available.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I stayed two nights at this fantastic guesthouse in Coimbra. The location is ideal-- close enough to walk pretty much anywhere in 10 minutes, but also quiet and on a street that makes you feel like you're a local instead of a tourist! Even parking our car was easy right on the street, which was a concern of mine knowing how tight and winding the streets can be in town! The recent renovation to this building is top quality and I really appreciated the high-end touches: great bed, shower, and wonderful morning meal! Communication was also fast and easy with management, and I felt totally well-taken care of by a kind local who was also a professional. I would definitely like to return here next time I pass through Coimbra.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I stayed here 1 month and loved it! Excellent (gluten-free!) breakfasts with homemade breads, pancakes, local cheeses, fruits from the farmers market, and more. Cozy, clean room with terrace and comfortable bed for good sleeping. Perfect location for digital nomads and people on scouting trips before moving to Portugal -- you'll really feel the local culture here. Ana and Ana taught me so much about the country and the Coimbra region. Great location with quick, easy walk to all the restaurants and cultural sites, but away from the downtown noise at the end of the day. I was treated like an honored guest. I will definitely return. Highly recommend.
