Foi o presidente da Câmara Municipal de Aveiro por 24 anos (1918-1942). Na sua gestão foram construídas importantes infraestruturas na cidade, incluindo a sua principal avenida, que ostenta hoje o seu nome, Avenida Dr. Lourenço Peixinho, onde se localiza este monumento.
A beautiful and significant tribute to the politician and physician Lourenço Simões Peixinho, born in Aveiro on 05/02/1877 and died on 03/07/1943, at 65 years of age. He was the president of the Municipality of Aveiro for 24 years (1918-1942). During his administration, important infrastructures were built in the city, including its main avenue, which today bears his name, Avenida Dr. Lourenço Peixinho, where this monument is located.
