Normally my wife and I don’t go to a restaurant that is rated less than 4 stars, but since it was recommended by our local tour guide we thought we would give it a try. We ordered the “mixed grill meat” & “sea bass”. Should have stuck with our 4 star rule. Service was good though.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Service is friendly. Local tap beer. The fish was home cooked on the grill and very fresh. I recommend the sardines and the dorado. In Portugal they don’t eat the skin so don’t cause they leave the scales. All in all delicious just didn’t enjoy the prosciutto that much.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Local typical food at reasonable price and good service. Fresh seafood as expected. We stayed nearby the place and walked pass by often. Staffs were very friendly and greeted our son all the time. It’s not so busy during our winter-season visit but believe summer would be packed.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ After a long day of walking, we were hungry and stopped at this restaurant. The food was ok. No frills grilled sardines and mackerel. Prices were also reasonable although when we left we saw other restaurants in the area with slightly cheaper prices for the same item

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Good simple food! Chouriço starter was mouth watering. The pork & clam dish is were one of our favourites! The black pork steak was also a winner - if you want to try something other than fish. We were unexpectedly serenaded with a bit of Fado here!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We just finished a magnificent Tuktuk tour with Susana (+351930441379). She recommended this lovely family run place to eat in Alfama. This was the cherry on the top of a wonderful day. We each had a different plate (Grilled sardines, sea bass, swordfish and Cod). It was amazing! Came out quick and we enjoyed it with the house white.
If Fantastic, delicious, amazing and friendly service and reasonably priced dining experience is what your looking for in Alfama, you should stop on by and prepare for a great meal.
PS, Sorry there are no pics of the plates as they arrive. It smelled to good NOT to dig in!
