★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The inside space is beautiful. The exhibits inside were hit or miss. An amazing sound exhibit when I was there. The true beauty and amazing art lies outside in the large garden area. Beautiful sculptures, an excellent tree top pathway and all around great experience. Short walk to the town and beach after for a great afternoon

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We came on a day near Christmas which was full of people and we got a bit lost in the crowed and probably didn’t see all the e displayed art.
The building is an architectural pearl

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Rarely have I found something so disappointing that I couldn’t wait to get back to the hotel to warn others from making the same mistake. This is the only museum in the world where I wanted to demand my money back. I was amazed at the sheer nothingness of what was on display. That’s not a reference to the quality but rather to the fact that there’s simply was so little art, especially for such a massive facility. There were rooms that literally had only one piece of art in the middle of an otherwise empty room. Then there was the second house which, in their defense, they did say it was currently empty. Yet in the main building, there was also entire wings that were closed off. I found myself asking the guard, “Is that really everything? Have I missed a section?” Despite this, there was no reduction in the ticket price to reflect this. Given that this is the most expensive museum in Porto, given what you get for the price of admission, it’s not worth it. Your money is better spent elsewhere in the city.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great museum always with outstanding exhibits. It also has an amazing garden, which is a lovely place to take a walk and also appreciate the sculptures outside and the fine architecture. I’ve been there a lot of times and it never stops surprising me.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Best museum in town. Architectural gem. Breathtaking garden. Must-see in Porto. We spend a fairly amount of time in the museum and even more time in the garden, which is actually a wide variety of gardens. If you like gardening then go. You won’t be disappointed ??

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I’m tempted to call this place a tourist trap! I love modern art museums and I’ve visited a few (MOMA, SFMOMA, Tate and Guggenheim Bilbao amongst others), but this museum is a joke. We were first offered to pay 20€ for the full museum experience which included the main building, the garden, tree walk and some kind of a film. We decided to skip the tree walk and the film (thanks god), so we paid 12€ (12 more than we should have).
The “main” building has a poor exhibition that takes about 5-7 minutes to finish (considering you stopped and stared at each exhibit). There is an extra room, that if I understood correctly, present the sponsor’s drawing, which looks like a child drew. But seriously. The garden is nice, so as other public gardens that you can visit for free. The “tree walk”, is a short bridge that was built above the lake. That’s just outrageous to charge extra for this embarrassing bridge walk, as you can see the same view as you walk under that bridge (only lower).
Stay away and have a nice porto wine in the city instead. It would be a much better use of your money and time!
The colored drawing (I’ve attached a photo) were the most exciting part in this exhibition.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ amazing garden (just visiting the garden is already a lot), beautiful Alvaro Siza building (with generally good exhibitions), cozy Tea House, good Cinema Museum and delicious art deco house and the new tree top walk.
it’s a little pricey the whole ticket so plan to spend the whole day there to enjoy it fully. besides the tea house there’s a restaurant with a fancy buffet and a coffee place in the main building to eat or snack, but you can always picnic somewhere in the park.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A very special and interesting museum, two floors of exhibits, during our visit there were very impressive pictures of the artist Mark Bradford, a exhibit by Tarek Atoui, a fascinating acoustic exhibit by Christina Kubisch and other special exhibits. Around the museum there is a huge, very well-kept garden with huge trees, pools, artistic elements and beautiful paths. We spent two and a half hours and really enjoyed it.
