★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have a birthday today and this trip is the present for me from my husband. O Castelo is the real Castle and the perfect place for us to celebrate and enjoy today. The administrator and the cleaning lady are very cute, they have just brought a flower and the pink wine for me as a birthday present. Also it is the best place for watching sunrise, doing yoga and listening to the sound of ocean waves. We've decided to stay one more extra night.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I hate seeing all these happy people giving them glowing reviews because I won't be able to get a room next time I want to book. Easily the best place to stay in carvoeiro. Views are amazing, hospitality is tremendously professional, easily a 5 star hotel. Quaint and somewhat secluded on side of a hill gives it charm. Tough walk up after a day on the beach is the only downfall. The restaurant's in town are excellent. The breakfast on the balcony is great, but only one table has a great view so getting up early is a plus. Overall a gem!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A very nice hotel with a great location. The room was clean, the staff was very friendly. In my opinion it is overpriced taking into account the size of the room and especially a bathroom (where you have troubles even to turn around)
Plus breakfast at €12.50 per person is quite much

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Location is excellent, staff is nice and helpful, the view (from the more expensive rooms) is incredible.
We decided not to pay for in-house breakfast and go to a local bakery which is way cheaper, but I guess having it in the balcony should be wonderful and worth the price.
We changed the room (paying extra) because the room we got initially was OK, with a window to a normal street and a small bathroom, but the real problem were the stairs: for that specific room the stairs are extremely steep and with small steps; not good for old, handicapped, or drunk people.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This was a fantastic stay. Parking is on street but we were always able to park within 30m of the hotel. The check in with Anna was excellent, enthusiastic and helpful. Our room was one of the cheaper ones but we had plenty of space, a nice bathroom, beautiful view and - almost as beautiful - a kettle! Sadly British but so nice to have an early morning cuppa when you wake up!
We had breakfast on the terrace which was just superb, both the food and the views. Wifi performance was very good. There was a lack of plug points but that's about the only negative, everything else was fantastic and the staff were just superb.
