★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I only visited the gardens (free visit in a special programm with the city), but they were well worth it. Well kept, beautifully planed and full of details. Beautiful views over the city as well.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice to see a restoration in progress, the garden is open all day but to see inside you need to go on one of the two morning tours. We booked a special tour for 10 of us at 0900 which was very effective. There's no cafe so take a flask!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A gem on the outskirts of Park Monsanto. Surprising beautiful. Recommend to go on the guided tour at 11.00 to see the inside of the palace

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It is such a beautiful place with a very resonable price to get in which is 5 euros. Although I realised it was not very well taken care of and I assume this is due to limited budget. I would love to see this place have more attention!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The palace was very beautiful and the opulent rooms inside it were marvelous. The grounds, while clearly brimming with history, were, however, less impressive. Most of the garden seemed to be in serious state of disrepair and that is a crying shame when one thinks of what could have been. It is early spring so maybe this was bit of an off-time for the gardens, but the beautiful statues and fountains were all so dirty you could hardly tell what they were supposed to represent. The guided tour was interesting and the guide was very knowledgeable and their English was excellent.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful palace a bit out of the city center.
You can choose to visit only the gardens or both gardens and palace. If I remember well, the prices were 5 euros for the gardens and 10 euros for both.
The gardens could be better took care of but it's giving a certain style to the whole. You will see bunch of azulejos, statues, blue walls and greens.
You can only visit the inside of the palace with a guide, probably because the place is private and still inhabited by a family. The guide is speaking Portuguese and English, and is willing to adapt to his audience. The explanations were interesting, we went through 6 or 7 rooms and the terasse.
This is a nice palace to visit if you are visiting Lisbon during a few days.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's Difficult to describe in words how beautiful this place is. I waited a long time to visit this garden with the man I love, and it was a day that I will never forget. We visited it on January 6 and practically had the entire property to ourselves. Truly magical. ??

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ An amazing palace in its beauty and magnificent gardens. Prepare the phone's battery because it will not stop taking pictures.
Entrance to the palace is ten euros per person, there is a tour that leaves at 11:00 and 12:00 . Entrance to the gardens - five euros per person.
The place is quite desolate from tourists and I think there are three reasons for this:
1. It is far from the city center and any other tourist destination.
2. The place is relatively small. We did not enter the palace but the gardens are beautiful but you can cover them with a slow half hour walk.
3. Those in charge of the place do not give added value. I mean we bought tickets for the garden, we did not get with it a brochure that explains the place or the gardens.
We know the place belongs to a noble family, so there must be a story. Why not interest the tourists.
By the way, getting there is also a bit problematic and uninviting. It's like nowhere.
