★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Visit to Bacalhoa palace and winery. The guide was friendly and knowledgeable with many interesting stories about the Palace. The uniqueness of the property has evolved through the many owners from a range of cultures. Moorish influences seen in the beautiful tiles displayed in the Lake house. Gardens have an intricate maze surrounded by Roman sculptures which overlooks well tended vineyards. The second part of the trip involves the winery. African sculptures and textiles dedicated to the Queen of Ginger. Art nouveau and Art Deco furniture, sculptures,ceramics,etc. Also Portuguese tiles representative of more than 5 centuries in Portugal. Finally the wine tasting- excellent. The trip cost 10euros and took 1hr30 mins. It was an exceptionally enjoyable experience and I cannot recommend it enough.

Our tour guide was Susanna - good English, deep knowledge of local history, sence of humor and attention to the participants. Bacaloa is very lucky to have her on the team. Thank you Susanna, we'll be back!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had a tour guided and we had oportunity to visit Bacalhoa Palace, Villa and wine production. You can see history of Bacalhoa company and particular arts pieces from the owner. In the final of visit you can taste three types of Bacalhoa wines. Great place to visit and knows a little bit about Portugal wine history.
