★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Quando era criança, ouvia as pessoas da Damaia referirem-se a este palacete como a "Quinta". Mal eu sabia que, anos mais tarde, viria a ter um amigo, cuja família lá viveu. Este palacete, datado do século XVIII, era a casa da Quinta Grande ou Quinta dos Condes da Lousã, assim também chamada, porque lá viveram os Condes da Lousã. Reza a história que, no início do século XX, também lá viveu o Padre Himalaya, grande inventor, que deu nome a uma artéria e a um largo na Damaia: Av. Padre Himalaya e Largo Padre Himalaya. O imóvel foi adquirido pela Câmara Municipal da Amadora e aguarda requalificação.
As a child, I heard the people of Damaia refer to this palace as the "Quinta". Little did I know that years later I would have a friend whose family lived there. This palace, dating from the eighteenth century, was the house of the Quinta Grande or Quinta dos Condes da Lousã, so called, because there lived the Counts of Lousã. The story is told that, at the beginning of the 20th century, Padre (Father) Himalaya lived also there, a great inventor, who gave his name to Av. Padre Himalaya and Largo Padre Himalaya. The property was acquired by the Municipality of Amadora and awaits requalification.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ O palácio dos Condes de Lousã fica localizado na freguesia das águas livres, o Imóvel dominou em tempos um vasto território, na então Aldeia da Damaia, encontrando-se atualmente rodeado por uma urbanização dos anos 60. A construção do edifício datado do século XVIII, tendo o corpo central da fachada norte sido restaurado no século XIX. Trata-se de uma casa de campo típica da região Lisboeta, com rebordo cor-de-rosa e pilastras de pedra e possuía uma Capela particular cujo orago era Nossa Senhora da Conceição. Do seu conjunto destacam-se os múltiplos telhados que compõe-em o edifício e os conjuntos de painéis de azulejos. Da sua história sabe-se que em 1813 a quinta era habitada apenas pelos caseiros e que na primeira década do século XX, viveu lá o Padre Himalaya, famoso pelas suas invenções. A quinta dos Condes da Lousã foi classificada como imóvel de interesse público em 24 de Dezembro de 2012.
The palace of the Counts of Lousã is located in the parish of free waters, the Property once dominated a vast territory, in the then Aldeia da Damaia, and is currently surrounded by an urbanization of the 60s. The construction of the building dating from the 18th century, the central body of the north façade was restored in the 19th century. It is a typical country house in the Lisbon region, with a pink border and stone pillars and it had a private Chapel whose patron was Nossa Senhora da Conceição. Of its set, the multiple roofs that make up the building and the sets of tile panels stand out. From its history it is known that in 1813 the farm was inhabited only by the caretakers and that in the first decade of the 20th century, Father Himalaya lived there, famous for his inventions. The fifth of the Counts of Lousã was classified as a building of public interest on December 24, 2012.
