★ ★ ★ ★ ★ There are not many restaurants worth trying in Castelo Branco but Palitão is good exception. It's the first place that comes to mind whenever I want to go out to dinner. They serve good traditional portuguese food at good prices and with a friendly service. The bread is pretty pretty good too.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ WOW! I had one of the best meals in Portugal here. We ordered the house steak and was blown away with the flavor, the perfect level searing. The side dishes were all great too. The ladies that serve the food were polite, attentive and provided great service all around.

My two sons ( 16 & 13 ) and I were looking for something authentic and correctly priced. We found it !! Fillet steak, Veal, many helpings of Rice & Beans, spicy tomatoes, Bread with Garlic and coriander, delicious scrambled eggs with meat, and all topped off with Creme Brulee. Including drinks, the cost a little over 50 Euros. Very helpful and friendly staff made this meal a pleasure. I would highly recommend Palitão.
