Located in the Marques Pombal area, a few steps from the famous Avenida Liberdade, Paralelo45 is a comfortable and cosy restaurant where the dishes are elaborated from fresh local products in an open kitchen with a very special franco portuguese touch.
Created first as a wine bar by French entrepreneur Emmanuel Valery-Laville in November 2016, Paralelo 45 has been a fine dining restaurant for the past 3 years. Since its transition, the establisment has been awarded prizes in gastronomy contests such as "Lisboa a prova" twice, has earned the traveller's choice award (issued by Tripadvisor to restaurants ranked in the top 10% of establisments worldwide) and is part of The Fork Insider which selects the best fine dining restaurants in the city.
The “À La Carte Menu” is created and renewed every season by the young and talented Chef Alison Leroy who takes pleasure in mixing Portuguese and French influences in her «cuisine».
This trendy « Bistro » is the perfect place to discover a menu full of Comfort and surprises at the same time.
The «lamb shank» cooked as a tribute to Chef Paul Boccuse, the chicken breast and chestnut in two textures or the duck “vol-au-vent” will bring you warmth, comfort and childhood flavours.
Meanwhile, the Portuguese grilled octopus created with inspirations from the south of France, the filet mignon and its port wine sauce or the black pork “cocotte” and many other unexpected mixes of savours will surprise your palate.
Everyday at lunch time, the Chef and her team create a “menu of the day” based on the daily inspiration and the fresh products that were presented to us by our friendly suppliers on the same morning. In order to please our guests with this particular menu, we focus on flavours, the variety of the dishes and last but not least, the quality price ratio to ensure a lovely but affordable experience. 14€ is the price for the menu of the day with a starter and a main course or a main course and dessert paired with a glass of wine and finalized with a nice coffee. 17€ entitles you to experiment the complete menu of the day. Every morning, the menu is published as stories on our social media channels (@paralelo45lisboa) for you to have some food for thought!
If you hear «service» coming from a confident voice inside the open kitchen, it means the Chef is about to finish plating a dish and that your octopus, lamb shank or black pork might be on its way to your table!
Our bilingual staff lead by restaurant manager Marco Matias will welcome you in the best conditions and make sure you are optimally cared for.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Excellent place to go and have some great food along with some perfect wine. The staff is extremely thoughtful and always available to offer an advice or food pairings. We had the raclette that tasted deliciously and at the end a Madeira wine for dessert. Thank you

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This was my favorite restaurant in Lisbon during my 5 day visit. The charcuterie board for two provided a huge variety of meats, dried fruit, and pickled vegetables. The poached sea bass was perfectly cooked and seasoned, and matched the delicious side of grilled vegetables. My favorite was the grilled octopus which was perfectly seasoned and very tender. Finishing the dinner with their not overly sweet creme brulee was perfect. Also, their wine and whiskey made for a wonderful evening!

The spirit of this restaurant is interesting and the service helpful, friendly and just perfect!
However the taste wasn't there. Fish was overcooked and the main dish also lacked some "crispy" texture which would have given more consistency. The tastes in the plate were also quite bland.
Another mistakes : red wine served too cold like the cheese.
So this experience didn't feel gastronomic. Prices are too high for the level of cooking delivered.
However we didn't taste everything and I hope that this comment will help the team to progress to better serve future clients.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of the best restaurants in Lisbon. Excellent service and Emmanuel the owner, a sommelier and French food expert is the essence of finesse and good food at a good price. Lunch menu extremely generous for the price and the dinner menu (à la carte) sumptous. Excellent selection of Portuguese and French/Italian wines. It's an open kitchen view over the restaurant and a great place for families, couples and business meetings.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My favourite restaurant in Lisbon, not only because the food is amazing for the friendly price - French chef Alison's work is gourmet level - but also that the service is just as amazing. It's a oasis in the poor service desert that is Lisbon and Portugal in general. It's clear that the owner, Emmanuel Valéry, is not only taking care of the menu but also his staff, as it reflects in their kindness, knowledge of the food and friendly banter with the customers. Wine selection is unbeatable also as Emmanuel is a sommelier and will offer the best to suit your taste and your meal. A fine fusion of French innovation meets Portuguese tradition. Great for businesses, families, couples.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This was an outstanding experience. The food was flavorful and local while the service was memorably fantastic.
Our server knew about wine regions and had a uniquely robust amount of wisdom he shared generously with us about which wines paired best with our dinners and even which port would taste best with my dessert-and wow was he ever spot on.
We sat near the sidewalk where there is an accordion wall of glass that was fully open thanks to the excellent weather.
Following our excellent dinner we walked back to our hotel. I look forward to revisiting Paralelo again soon.
