★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is basically a large sandy and small stone carpark overlooking the sea beside the main road. Its very dusty in dry weather. Its on a slope but there are a few flat areas to park.
There are steps to the sandy beach which is mainly used for surfing. The waves are quiet rough here so not suitable for swimming in the winter months. There is a river estuary at one side which the beach extends to and where families seem to go.
Pros:
Free parking.
Restaurants at the beach.
Drinking water fountains on the small promenade.
Paid (€0.50) outdoor shower at restaurant.
Rent surfing equipment at beach.
Stunning views.
Cons:
Road noise.
No shade.
On a slope.
There are full free services excluding electricity 3km in the town at Intermarche supermarket.
There are some large rubbish bins in the carpark.
The port is 2.5km away with plenty of cafe and restaurants to choose from. All the supermarkets including Intermarche, Lidl and Aldi are about 3km away.
We had 2 quiet nights here with many surfer vans.
Bugs/Mosquitoes. (They love us..)
We did not encounter any mosquitoes here.
