★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A very poor experience ! The saddle was very poor quality and dangerous as it was not strapped correctly. No helmet provided...no trotting, no galop..just a slow ride..
The landscape were beautifull, the instructor was not friendly and not professional ! They tried to sell us a video very expensive ! And push negociations !
They only accept cash !!
I already did in Algarve, completely different, cheaper, with a better saddle, helmet, trotting on the beach, possibility to try a galop, instructor were very professional and knowledgeable about the area !
So i don t recommend it !
Save your time your back and your money !!
Estava mesmo muito fraco !!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The most underwhelming experience of my life. If I wanted to just move slowly on a bumpy surface for 1.5 hours I would have taken the motorized shopping cart at Walmart. We were not allowed to go faster than a walk for the entire time. Then this guide Tiago was incredibly rude and didnt explain why some people were allowed to go “galloping” and some weren’t. Typical example of an employee having a power trip. The only reason im giving 2 stars is because the puppy there was super cute.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Another place that may have been great at the time but has become a shameful tourist trap.
My gf and I took a group ride on the beach (65€ pp!). When we woke up that day, the weather was really cloudy so I called the owner to postpone. He answered that the weather would become better and cut the discussion short. When we arrived I asked again about the weather and the guy literally told us “Don’t worry, it is everyday the same, the weather will be clear once we arrive at the beach”. We trusted him.
We were supposed to leave at 11:30, but had to wait 30 minutes as they were not ready. We have been understanding and said that we did not mind. While waiting, someone asked to make a galop on the beach and the employee said OK at the end.
We were a big group of 10 persons, with only ONE guide. Hence, the horses had to follow each other very closely, and the ride was extremely slow and boring. I've done a few tours in other countries with 2 guides so we could easily take a break, spread out a bit, receive water... Given the high price & the website’s pictures, I was expecting something similar. Here we had to stand in a line (riding next to each other was forbidden), without a single trot. Horses were going so slowly they had to stop regularly.
At the beach… we couldn’t see anything as it was full of smog! I am not exaggerating: we were barely seeing the last horse. This was the first lie from the owner.
On the website, they advertise some explanations on the flora: the guide, Tiago, didn’t say anything, except a few words in Portuguese. Second lie.
Then we arrived back at the stable, 15 minutes earlier. The employee explained us later that it was a “mistake” on the website. Third lie.
What about the galop? Tiago proposed to experienced riders to make a (really short) galop on the road in front of the stable (so not on the beach as expected, fourth lie). I am not an experienced rider but have some experience so I kindly asked to do a galop (or even a trot). The guy refused in such a disrespectful way. He was talking to me as I was a dog. I asked why I couldn’t. He answered “because you are not able” and waved his hand to tell me to get down (!!). My girlfriend, who did the (tiny) gallop down the street, later told me that the horses were very nervous. I can therefore fully understand why they did not accept. Still, the disrespectful & unprofessional way he spoke to me, without even bothering to explain, was outrageous. Moreover, the employee did not try to offer anything else (a trot?) and couldn’t care less. He didn't ask anyone if we were satisfied. Customers at this place are only money cows.
I called the owner right away. He showed disgusting bad faith. He went on to explain that he didn't decide the weather, which is a given that I never disputed - I was blaming him for guaranteeing that the weather would be good and CONVINCING us not to postpone the ride. As we had already paid beforehand (DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE), I asked to be refunded. The owner said he would call back, but never did. He didn't even have the decency to apologise. He just ordered his employee to to so. What a shame. The employee then sneeringly offered me a gallop into the paddock, adding that "if I fell it would not be his problem". I obviously did not accept this grand joke. I asked if the only thing he was able to do was to apologies, and he said “yes”.
After offering a tiny glass of water, the employee left us all standing there saying that he was in a hurry to prepare the next ride (of the unfortunate next victims of this scam).
I lost 65€ and a half day. We spent the rest of the day with customers we met, making jokes about this whole circus.
No more passion, only the lure of money. A place to avoid at all costs.
FANNY’s BOYFRIEND (other comments are not from me, Luis. There are just other unhappy customers; Do not answer to this review: call me instead to try to fix things, this is how professional people do.)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very nice ride through the forest on safe horses. While I’m an experienced rider it was the first time for my partner and he was made to feel comfortable and confident for our hack. We were also lucky in that we had the ride to ourselves!
It was really interesting to learn more about the area, and the cork trees, from the back of a horse. Would recommend.
