★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Pasteraria Saloia was literally the first place I went to minutes after I arrived at the bus station in Ericeira. Seemingly isolated in the old section of the town, I needed a cup of coffee and WiFi to use Google Maps so I could find the best route to get to my place of accommodation.
The small pastry pastry shop and cafe was half filled with locals who were all friendly to me and several spoke excellent English. They even told me which road to take to walk to the central square of Ericeira.
I returned to Pasteraria Saloia again on my second day in Ericeira and found almost all the tables occupied by local residents, except the one where I sat. A large cup of coffee cost only .60 €. I love the friendly people here and the fresh pastries are baked daily and are really delicious.
