h	helly on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Swung by the first restaurant in the world (in 1949) to serve roasted suckling pig and I gotta say it did not disappoint. The skin was super crispy and the meat super tender! The sauce it came with, though unnecessary, was a tad salty but was an interesting flavour. The hospitality was great; so glad we made a pit stop for this and so glad it’s still here today!
O	Oli Bri on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Absolutely fantastic place to eat. Certainly not the cheapest place for Portugal, but the food quality is really good. The waiter Ladys a just lovely, and you will certainly find one who speak your language if you don't speak Portuguese.

Also, when the waiter brings food you haven't ordered, such as bread, fresh white cheese, olives, and a fried pastry ask if it's on the house (it isn't). I have never ever seen a restaurant in Spain (I've been coming to Spain since 1948.) charge for *olives. So, be aware. Location is A+. Very Portuguese.

We arrived quite early and were treated with friendly service and amazing food. We took the owners recommendation on the food and wine and both were spot on. The pig is really incredible. Don’t miss this bit especially. The portions are massive, and we struggled to eat ours. There are lots of sides served too.

You will find a fantastic crackling and a very tender meat that will melt in your mouth (and a pepper sauce that works wonderfully well with it). All accompanied with some home made crisps that will be the best crisps you will ever eat.
L	Liliana Kawase on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If you go to Coimbra and want a full Bairrada region experience you need to go a bit further and stop at Mealhada for a “Leitão a Bairrada”. It’s a roasted piglet with crunchy skin served with salad and the famous Portuguese fries. All very well accompanied with a Bairrada sparkling wine and finished with a slice of “Morgado de Bussaco”, a multilayered walnut cake and a delicious regional egg yolk sweet spread. This place is one of the best and traditional in a road lined with restaurants.
