The WORST experience in Lisbon. I ordered a “codfish lagareiro style“ and it arrived 40 minutes late. The fish was RAW/ UNCOOKED. When complained to the waiters I was offered a cake in return which I found out was hard as a rock and it seemed like it was few days old. NEVER GOING THERE EVER AGAIN!!!

Food was delicious and wasn't overpriced. Restaurant had a lovely ambience and the waiters were really attentive. We came here on a couple of occasions because the establishment was that good. Highly recommend the Fish Risotto. Seafood Rice for two people is also pictured. The dish was packed with shellfish/seafood, plenty for two people.

Very long wait for the service, for food and bill. Unfortunately the food was nothing special, it was almost as if we had prepared something like that ourselves at home. The pasta bolognese literally had just pasta, meat and tomato sauce, nothing special. The tuna dish was also a disappointment, it did not have ANY taste - just plain baked potatoes with it, not even with salt or pepper. No flavor at all. :-( not worth the money! The rose wine tasted very very bitter, I could not even finish the glass. We were sitting right next to the kitchen so we could see the prepared dishes often stood there for more than 10 minutes before they were served to the customers - therefore the food was almost cold when we got it. Would not go again. This place seems like a tourist trap.

If 'serving a grilled octopus' would be an Olympic discipline, Peixaria do Rossio takes gold and there's no doubt about it. I am a big fan of seafood and after visiting number of restaurants I came back to Peixaria do Rossio for my last culinary hurrah in Lisbon.

The food was good. I ordered the octopus and it looks really good on camera, taste good as well. I ordered the white wine(first one on the menu), it was really smooth. My friend had the codfish and the seasoning is lighter compared to mine. The clams were not that fresh I think (maybe because it’s not the right season), but seasoning was okay ?? But make sure you don’t get here when you are really hungry, you will need to wait for a while for everything

We walked past this place in the afternoon and thought it looked nice so booked a table for the same evening. In between, we checked the reviews on here and TripAdvisor, and to be honest, we were worried. Really worried. We considered finding somewhere else, but we thought no, trust our first impression and instincts, give it a chance.. and we are so glad we did - we absolutely loved it! First up, the staff were lovely, especially the Nepalese lady who brought the menus and cleared the table, and the local waiter who served us. Both were friendly, chatty, happy to talk to us, make recommendations and ask if we needed any help with questions about any of the dishes. They really were so friendly and welcoming. What worried us from the reviews was how long dishes came out - but happy to report that even though this was a busy Saturday night, the dishes came as expected - no long wait. We had the wonderfully names "Board of Sausages" to start and some bread and olives. All really good food. For mains we had the sardines, and two of the cod dishes. The sardines were delicious - moist and juicy, and served with really nice roasted peppers and new potatoes. The stand out for me however was the Bacalhau à Brás. I'd never had it before, it's something like a cross with kedgeree and Spanish tortilla, and it was so delicious. A really nice char on the onions and potatoes from the pan. We're big fans of kedgeree (a haddock and rice breakfast dish) so this was an absolute winner. I could probably eat that all day every day. Also had a very nice pastel de nata with port for dessert, it was creamy and the pastry so flaky. All in all, I'm happy we weren't put off by the reviews, we had a really lovely dinner where everything was tasty, the staff were wonderful, and it all was served at the right time! No complaints, and we would go back again!
