★ ★ ★ ★ ★ O pelourinho de Arraiolos levanta-se numa pequena Praça, Fronteira ao Edifício do hospital do Espirito Santo e da antiga casa da Câmara e cadeia da comarca, rodeado pelo típico casario do centro da Vila. Foi provavelmente erguido em 1511 de acordo com a sua feição quinhentista. O soco é constítuido por quatro degraus circulares em calcário. Sobre este assenta uma quinta plataforma circular formando a base do Monumento. O conjunto é rematado por uma esfera lisa sobre peanha facetada, tendo ambas estado caiadas durante muito tempo, mas não atualmente. O Monumento foi derrubado em 1757 num acto de vandalismo, e terá ficado partido (fuste e remate). Foi reerguido por ordem do Rei D. José no mesmo ano.
The pillory of Arraiolos rises in a small square, bordering the building of the hospital of Espirito Santo and the old town hall and county jail, surrounded by the typical houses in the center of the village. It was probably built in 1511 according to its 16th century features. The punch consists of four circular limestone steps. On this rests a fifth circular platform forming the base of the Monument. The whole is finished off by a smooth sphere on a faceted pedestal, both of which have been whitewashed for a long time, but not currently. The Monument was demolished in 1757 in an act of vandalism, and it will have been broken (shaft and shot). It was rebuilt by order of King D. José in the same year.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Good choice tho marred by the use of bad cooking oils. Price was very high for what we had. Sangria was average.
We were just saying how Spanish food was more expensive than its Portuguese cousin ( having arrived yesterday once more): well, here the universe shows us another reality ?
