★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Está um espaço muito bem conseguido. Uma área de refeições antes do supermercado, com possibilidade para pequenas reuniões. Serviço de pastelaria e take away variado. Bastante ampla e espaçosa. A área destinada ao supermercado poderia ser maior dada a localização em si.
It's a very well done space. A dining area before the supermarket, with the possibility for small meetings. Pastry service and varied take-away. Quite wide and spacious. The area for the supermarket could be bigger given the location itself.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 1. I entered for a quick shopping and the security guy stopped me. It was not clear what he would like to say to me because I was in a hurry but I noticed that he said "tu" and not "a senhora" and it is a luck of respect in Portuguese language in that context (he is an employee and I am a client who spends money in the shop). A few second later I realized that I entered with a backpack and I asked him whether he would like to check my bag. He said no, but he continued to questioning me, such as where I am from etc. I felt uncomfortable and I think, the situation was abnormal. This person should show more respect towards the clients. The clients are not there to entertain him. At that time I left the shop perturbed even if I should not.
2. I had good experiences with other members of the staff. One of the ATM does not work properly and unfortunately the machine stays there, letting only a label on the top of the machine to inform the clients. I discussed about it with a security guard who explained me the situation. At that time I left the shop content even if I had an issue with the machine.
3. The cafeteria with the breakfast nook is a pleasant place to have a coffee, to enjoy a meal or just to check the news on the common television while waiting for someone. The servers are nice and professional, and handle the long lines well. The sandwiches are abundant, look good and are fresh.
(At the moment it is not possible to have lunch on the spot without showing the certificate. I hope that the situation will change soon.)
I wish a happy 2022 for the Pingo Doce staff in Mercês and for all of us.
