Esta ponte substituiu a velha ponte da Portela, que ficou submersa pelas águas da albufeira da barragem de regularização.
Road bridge over the River Sabor, just upstream of the flow regulation dam built during the development of the large dam of Baixo Sabor, located further upstream. This bridge replaced the old Portela bridge, which was submerged by the waters of the regularization dam reservoir.
