The Canal bridge in Marco de Canaveses, connecting Vila Boa do Bispo to Abragão Penafiel, built in granite masonry was another notable work by engineer Edgar Cardoso, having been inaugurated in 1949, characterized by a span of 60.00m, arrow 7.00m 1/9. It was submerged after the construction of the Torrão dam and the consequent rise in the water level of the Tâmega river.
