Los baluartes y defensas son de los siglos XVII Y XVIII,con motivo de las Guerras de Restauración. Acceso libre a este castillo desde el que se tienen unas bonitas vistas del pueblo y del Río Miño. En su interior también está la capilla . Totalmente recomendable su visita.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Castelo de Dom Diniz, só para inglês ver, utilidade zero, a um monumento de interesse público, Cerveira não pode resumir-se única e simplesmente à sua Bienal há outros motivos relevantes a rever e este Castelo pode e deve fazer parte do roteiro turístico da Vila pelo Património histórico que com certeza comporta.
