★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Tomar is a lovely old town, with amazing monuments and was the headquarter of the Portuguese Order of Christ, which played a very important role in Portugal, particularly in our medieval history. The Republic square is the old town city center and besides being worth a visit, the history of the town and the beauty of the surronding region is worth staying!
