A propriedade situa-se junto da antiga e importante estrada real, entre o Carregado e Coimbra (Mala-Posta), foi por aí que passaram e se hospedaram alguns membros da família real. A parte residencial da quinta ainda conserva traços da arquitetura antiga, o que é patente nas cantarias antigas em redor das portas e janelas.
