PRO:
- beautiful location at the banks of the Douro with a spectacular view and an extensive garden with swimming pool to discover;
- big clean rooms;
- delicious dinners (including a mouth watering grilled dorado!)
- a very polite and helpful young lady (Gabriela?) who's pretty fluent in English
- decent, basic breakfast
CON:
- the place has potential, but feels dated (a lot of the furniture in the rooms is antique, but the carpets and bedsheets look old and smelly; the bathrooms are very basic,...)
- the rest of the staff speaks very little to no English
- rather slow wifi & only in the common area
Oh and we had the room closest to the railway track (like in: looking out on to the track), but we did not find it an issue.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing place, you sleep in and you are treated like in a castle with old fashioned charm, beautiful garden, pool and river beach. Very nice super clean rooms, excellent friendly service (in english). We spent 5 days with small kids here...very welcoming. Lunch and dinner on terrace - simple and homemade with a lot of conveniences and style. Booking best by Email.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I visited this Quinta for one day.
I was impressed by the beauty of the estate. Everything is so amazing. They even have a small waterfall nearby.
Some things that they could improve is to keep benches clean. I had to put towel to sit on it. The pool was good, but a little dirty as well as the private river beach. I would suggest them to clean it too from some rubbish on the sand.
The room was clean and warm. The bed was hard and the great minus is that dogs were barking during the night. Another thing is that wifi is really poor. On the highest floor it was not working.
The service itself is good, but there are always things to be improved.
All in all, I enjoyed my stay and was pleased with friendly staff and nature.
