Snack in Lisbon? Mandatory stop at the São Paulo kiosk. Try the delicious squid sandwich. It's divine! There is a patty (homemade recipe) that is to lick your fingers and cry for more!

"My" kiosk, full of good things, in one of the most beautiful squares in Lisbon. Tender pastries, green eggs, the delicious fried calamari sandwich with wasabi mayonnaise or a tonic gin in the evening.

Volto sempre, sempre
When tradition happens and memories invade us, this is the Kiosque de São Paulo, right in the center of the city, which brings us back to the flavors of yesteryear. Starting with the salads that are ours, moving on to the repolgas sandwiches, pork greaves, where the star of the company is the fried squid sandwich that is to eat and eat and eat... Paul is the past, in the present that looks to the future. I come back always, always

Yes Lisbon has so many amazing restaurants to go, so why this Quiosque in particular? Well I’m Portuguese (born and raised) and this is my go to place for comfort in food, happiness on a plate and a cosmopolitan twist on traditional dishes. *do not* leave without trying at least one “sandes de lula”. Really, do not pass on this! Thank me later

Shame on me for not yet leaving a review of this delightful quiosque at the Praça São Paulo in Cais do Sodré. Sarah and I love the Saturday organic market on this relatively quiet and secluded square and we have dined at the quiosque a few times now. One’s first clue to the quality there is that it’s the little sister of the very special Taberna Rua Das Flores just up the street (and shame on me for not yet dropping a review here on google for that marvelous restaurant!) Today, on our way down to the Mercado Ribeira for some shopping, we decided our hunger coincided perfectly with the gentle breeze and the mild temps to lure us once more to grab our favorite at the quiosque: the sande pernil fumado—a smoked ham sandwich with tangy bits of pickle and a hearty cilantro mayo! Best yet, it is served on a chewy (in the best sense) pão de agua bun from what we are told is one of best bakeries in Lisbon . . . So we’ll need to head there soon, too! As usual, we paired the sandes with a limonada with just the right hint of honey and the perfect 20CL cerveja! And yes, we do need to try some of the other items on the quiosque’s menu board, so we’ll just have to return . . . Delightfully recommended!
