Delicious food, dessert, and wine; fair prices, and very friendly-helpful service. A family run business. Nice location in the middle of the old town.

This small restaurant on the old town square provides excellent food, a carefully selected list of exceptional wines and best of all it is run by a wonderful team. Our thanks to Joao and Virtudes, mother and son for making a wet Saturday afternoon so special.

We couldn’t decide which restaurant to go to but we were unbelievably happy to have chosen Restaurante Virtudes. Family run, the mother was the chef and the son the waiter. The hospitality was incredible, it felt like you were being hosted in their home. He was really helpful in describing the dishes and very sweetly played along with our poor attempts at Portuguese. And of course, the food. Delicioso!

Food took 40 minutes to arrive and the kitchen sent us the wrong dish ?. Also, there was an uncooked shrimp on my husband's plate. The waiter tried to be helpful though.

We just had an absolutely delicious lunch, we were served by a gracious and warm-hearted waiter. My wife is a good cook, and mama the cook wrote down one of her recipes for her. The food was perfect, the afternoon experience wonderful. I cannot recommend this restaurant more highly.

This restaurant was a total surprise! Loved everything about it. We had lunch in a charming, sun soaked medieval square starting off with a fantastic passion fruit and champagne sangria, followed by a subtle, aromatic vegetable soup, and the grilled tuna with vegetables and sautéed potatoes. The restaurant is owned and run by Virtudes, an excellent chef, and her wonderful son Joao. Total 10!!! Brava !!!
