Adoro pontes romanas.
I love Roman bridges. Whenever I see a sign, I go behind ... Too bad they do not tell the distance or say if you can drive to the bridge in question ...

Known as the Roman bridge of Candal or Portucalense bridge over the River Coja, this old bridge is located on a rural path in a forest area about ten kilometers away from the county seat, Aguiar da Beira. It is thought to be a bridge from the period of Roman occupation of the territory, located in one of the branches of the Roman route that connected Viseu to Mérida. The Granite stonework bridge is about 25 meters long by 3.20 wide, with two round arches and a board with three planes, the central plan and the two slightly ramped sides.

Very nice monument to the construction prowess of Romans. This bridge is still standing strong and it doesn't look like it will fall anytime soon. The road to reach it is dirt with several holes but still doable even with a very low car.
