L	Lois White on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have just spent a week staying at Rural Escapes , the retreat is hosted by Camilla & Ellis. The bell tent I slept in was delightful , lovely comfortable bed and plenty of space, being April at times It was cold but extra blankets were provided if needed. I am pretty much a beginner at yoga but Camilla was very attentive and I felt encouraged by her enthusiasm for the yoga practice. I enjoyed the holiday so much that I am planning to return next year .

I spent 6 nights at Rural Escapes for Camilla's 'Heart of Yoga' retreat and it was an incredible experience exploring the heart surrounded by mountains and beautiful nature. A real chance to slow down and have some wholesome, self-nurturing time. Camilla and Ellis are great hosts, down to earth and entertaining! Camilla's yoga practice and teachings are inspired and heart felt and allowed me to truly relax and open to the healing, strength and vitality of yoga. The food was delicious and plentiful! The accomodation comfortable, simple and a joy to spend time in connecting with the surrounding tranquility and views. Highly recommend!

Camilla and Ellis are more than welcoming and Camilla is the best Yoga teacher I have ever had the pleasure to work with. I can’t wait to return either to volunteer, experience one of their retreats or just to camp.

I really enjoyed the yoga classes, the conversations and being in such a peaceful, secluded location overlooking the mountains. Food was delicious, fresh, healthy and varied. I loved spending my days outside, every night I saw a beautiful sunset. I can’t wait to go back sometime!

I spent 5 months living here as an Airbnb guest and from start to finish, Ellis and Camilla went above and beyond to make the experience easy and enjoyable. The valley is an incredibly serene location, with some of the best panoramic views in the Algarve. The accommodation was comfortable and cosy, as well as being nicely decorated, well insulated and functional for every need. Having an ecological focus is a huge bonus also. The two dogs, Mani and Shuva also made the place more playful and welcoming. Going for frosty morning walks with Mani on a winter's morning will always be a find memory. If you're looking for a place to escape the chaos of the outside world, where you can temporarily forget about lockdowns and restrictions, and wish to reconnect with yourself and with nature on a deeper level — this is the perfect spot. Camilla’s cooking is delicious, and Ellis has a solution for everything - he even fixed my car! The yurt we slept in is comfortable and cozy, recommend this experience!

Arriving on the robuust and rocky road, you will find a little place in paradise: quiet, green, surrounded by mountains and fresh air. Ellis is super friendly and welcoming, the two dogs you get for free during your stay :-) We stayed in the sunrise lodge with the best views, especially from the outdoor toilet. The private terrace is again a nice surprise. You can go on long walks, the dogs will guide and protect you, without ever meeting another person, and our 4 year old son was happy and entertained by nature itself. And what's cool is as well is that Ellis has built everything himself with respect for the surrounding and nature! A very inspiring and remote place, just what we needed! We looked for an idylic place in the nature, where we find room to connect to ourselfs, find peace, slow down external distractions and focus on our inside. And all of that we found in rural escape, the magic of this place was above we would expect. It is such an incredible gift that Camilla and Ellis create something like this, and we are nothing but grateful to find this Oasis and peace. We could write a book about how beautiful it is, but I believe you should go yourself and see it with your own eyes. Nothing could have been better.
