★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I showed up at 7 sharp and had no problem getting a table. Within 10 minutes the restaurant filled up with local people and a scant few tourists. One or two people were turned away after the restaurant filled up—it’s a very popular spot.
The price was unbeatable! €5 for an enormous portion of codfish plus a small (20cl) beer. The cod was basically fish and chips, but with olives. If you really like fish and chips, have the cod and you won’t be disappointed.
The service was typical of a diner or busy chain restaurant. Keep in mind that it’s a local haunt, not a Michelin starred restaurant.
The food quality was good. The cod was tender, not overcooked. The chips were a little undercooked for my tastes, and the very few vegetables in the mix were a bit soft. Overall it was still one of the better meals I’ve had in Porto.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Highly recommended! As shown in the attached pic, I ordered a small bottle of wine (about 2 full glasses) and fried sardines which came with rice and a side salad. The entire bill was only €9 and all the dishes tasted great ????
I went right around 7pm when they just opened for dinner (the restaurant only open during lunch and dinner hours) and seated right away but before I could finish my meal, a small line already formed outside of the restaurant.
The other pic was the line when I went back next day around almost 9pm to try to get some octopus (the waiter told me it’s only available on Saturday).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ So this is actually the second tine I've been here, the 1st being back in July 2018. Despite being closed on that night they stayed open and cooked for me & 5 friends. We loved the steak dish served with chips and rice. Roll on 3 years and I have returned to Porto with my girlfriend and happened to be staying nearby finding the restaurant online by accident. As soon as I saw they were still open and doing the same dish I knew I had to return and tonight (26/07/21) I did. Ordering the same dish as last time it came out quickly and tasted so good, very reasonably priced and with great service from the staff, I'd highly recommend this place for any steak lover in Porto!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great place. If you want to eat where the locals eat, then you need eat here. Food was great, the whole atmosphere was amazing, plus the staff helps to make the whole local experience.
I had the cod fish, we ordered some nice sangria and basically had all the desserts.
I would definitely go back once again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great restaurant that caters mostly for locals. Don't even bother with the menu, just order the house steak, medium rare. One of the best steaks I have had anywhere. It was a huge portion and tender. My wife had the cod which she really enjoyed. Good quality house wine, great service, friendly.
