SantoLoco was founded in Munich, Germany, in 2007 by two brothers, Ricardo and Ronaldo Friesen. Both are originally from Brazil but have now spent most of their lives in Germany. Their spark for surfing and skating started when they were really young in Brazil. Not born into money they would surf and skate anything that would float or roll. When they moved to Germany that stoke did not leave them. That stoke would instead push them to create SantoLoco: "We want to create a place where you can live your dreams in everyday life, where you can experience your individuality and still feel community, in which you can be a bit self-assertive, underline your style and feel at the same time belonging."

All staff members and team riders are authentic surfers and skaters who are passionate about what they do, are competent in their roles, and who strive to be role models to the younger generation.

Over the past 12 years SantoLoco has become probably one of the best surf / skate shops in the world. A top seller for a lot of top rated brands in our industry. As well as being able to keep the core value of being that "core" shop for their local community: "We strive to be the best at what we do and hope our customers appreciate this commitment."

What does the word "SantoLoco" mean?
Santo means “Holy”: Holy means living a life free (of addiction), faithful and happy. We want to have a big positive impact on every life that we work with. Customers, Staff, Managers, ... and the Community.
Loco means “Crazy”: SantoLoco wants people to truly embrace the fact that living a “holy” life doesn’t mean a boring life. As such, the Company encourages people to live a life of adventure and of doing crazy things, not one of regrets and what-ifs.
