★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Go early! Doors open at 8:30. General wait time is 1-2 hours, the later you go the longer you will wait. Luckily there are places to eat/relax/walk around the area while you wait. Goodluck!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ You have to come 2h prior to the opening time in order to be attended in the early afternoon. The DMV employees from zootopia work a few thousand times faster than the guys here.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ there are only 50 passwords per day, of which 10 are for declaration of entry. sleep there. The attendants are arrogant and ignorant. speak and do not listen to what the person is saying, they do not know what they are doing there. perhaps warming a bench. because work is not. people inhumane.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 3 months calling to make a booking with no answer, went to the location but would not allow me in because I don't have an appointment. In the meantime visa is now expired and I can't talk to anyone. Amazing service at SEF, taking advantage of the pandemic to do even less than before.. Shameful!!!!!!!!

A charming lady received me in very nice way very very polite also, she is around her 60's she made me forget of the long year I spent waiting for my residency. She help me kindly with speaking to me in English, she treated me humanly with respect.
I had a 5 star experience with her. Thank you dear Lady, and keep it up?
My appointment was day 28/09 at 10h30.
Big thanks to the portuguese government to have such competent people.
