This is a VERY new hostel, and you can definitely tell so with the staffing (lengthy waits for cafe orders, partying loudly way past midnight, etc) - however I stayed the very first week it was opened so I'm sure its to be expected. The decor was thought out, even if the furnishings were mostly IKEA. I did think the location was perfect for sure. The Surf Instruction was great, REALLY good instructor, but the additional £35 for 2 hours was a bit steep, I thought. Overall, I would stay here again but am hopeful they will sort their kinks out.

Had a blast staying here for two weeks! Best rooftop terrace for sunset, awesome staff, and super nice pool lounge area. Also there's a great middle eastern restaurant connected to the hostel. Definitely recommend!

Great vibes, extra friendly staff. We got a private room with bathroom and it also had a balcony which was nice. The place also has a cafe so you can eat in if you don't feel like going out. It's very close to the supermarket and there's free parking outside. That's all the good stuff. I really wanted to leave this place a 5 star review but - this place has a small kitchen that people can cook in, that didn't have enough utensils and was dirty most of the time (residents apparently don't like cleaning after themselves).

First of all, it has to be said that the staff at reception were exceptionally helpful and pleasant. We liked the facilities and its close proximity to town. Our stay at Selina would have been great, had it not been for the unkind behaviour of one of the managers at the restaurant. We were there for one night to celebrate my husband’s birthday and hired a babysitter to look after our two small children (1 and 4 years old) while we went out to dinner. During dinner, our babysitter called us to let us know that she and our children were asked to leave the restaurant area because the kids were eating takeaway pasta. This is aggravating because :- a) there were no kids menu b) most of the items were spicy, saucy and not suitable for children c)the only thing they could eat was the quesadilla and we already fed them that that afternoon d) the babysitter had ordered from the Mexican menu of the hostel and should not be kicked out just because the kids were eating pasta. He even had the audacity to say that, “you wouldn’t bring Mexican food to eat at an Italian restaurant.” As a mother with two small children that have travelled to many places, I have never encountered such uncompassionate and cold behaviour from a staff member. After kicking them out, he didn’t offer them a high chair, which was the main reason why she ordered her food from the restaurant, so she could feed them while having dinner herself. I can understand that he was only following the rules, but in this case, the babysitter is ordered from menu. She shouldn’t get kicked out just because of the kids food. Everywhere even in airlines, toddlers are given the concession to bring their own food because of allergies/food sensitivites etc. Needless to say, we couldn’t enjoy our dinner worrying if our babysitter and kids are ok. This manager seriously needs to be reprimanded or if he was just blindly and coldheartedly following orders, then the hotel should think about including a kids menu so that parents or caregivers could have dinner in the restaurant without the risk of getting kicked out. A big disappointment, to say they least, to end our stay at Selina.

there is a suitable place for a cafe by the pool with a sunset! but my experience was simply disappointing in this place, I left my business cards where they were accepted and when I returned after a week I had the information that they were all thrown in the trash!! I feel disappointed with this kind of attitude of the human being...

I visited Selina and planned to stay for a week in the Ericeira, Portugal hostel. I ended up staying for a month. The building is incredibly beautiful and very relaxing. The staff our amazing! I've never been to a hostel in all the years I've travelled that really make you feel at home. Location is perfect and the food and drinks are great! I met alot of amazing people from all over the world, who I will definitely keep in touch with and this was down to the atmosphere and energy Selina beamed with! I wouldn't choose another place to stay moving forward! Thank you to all the staff and wonderful travellers I've met ❤️❤️❤️❤️

I really enjoyed my stay at Selina. Friendly staff, more amenities than I could have thought of, and also great guests that I was lucky to come across. Chapeau! The cleaning staff was also on top of everything, ensuring cleanliness a few times per day.

I really enjoyed my time in this hostel. There were so cool and helpful people at the reception and i met many awsome other guests there. the evenings on the beautiful terrace (with sea view and sunset) felt like in a group of friends. All the rooms, bathrooms, toilets and the kitchen were cleaned every day very properly. So if you want to spend a good time at a nice place, selinas is definitely well recommendable!
