★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had two great days and nights at Shamwari. The pictures speak for themselves really! In addition to the relaxing and peaceful atmosphere at Shamwari, it’s a great vantage point to explore the beautiful Guadiana Valley nature park. We recommend anyone to leave the beaten path and come find little Southern Africa in the Algarve. Helena and David, we wish you all the best!

We had a very warm welcome and truly felt home. The view is beautiful and the two dogs who walk around the premise are super sweet.
The facilities are great as well, and you can take a beautiful hike in the surroundings.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Upscale caravan camping on top of a hill with fantastic sunsets. Camping are is very well kept. The are also tent sights with luxury tents. I will go there again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ What a beautiful little happy place! We were lucky to have found this spot passing through and ended up staying for two nights. The scenery is breathtaking, the site lovely but the true heart is put into the newly opened camp ground by the hosts Helena and David (and of course the two sweet dogs). We felt welcome from the first minute and really enjoyed the conversations we had - either sitting at the bar or randomly chatting on the fly. Having traveled through Portugal for close to five weeks, this was hands down the best site we came across. We highly recommend leaving the usual ocean hot spots for a few days and to pay these guys a visit. You’ll be rewarded with the most spectacular sunsets, star filled nights and warm hospitality. The perfect place to wind down, take a breath and just be. Can’t wait to see what the future brings and the other projects on site are completed. We will be back! Thanks Helena and David ???????

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fantastic place. The owners were incredibly hospitable and friendly; beautiful hikes right from the front door; and in the evening we sat on the terrace and watched the sunset while chatting to the other campers.
Also, proper (hot) showers, wonderful dogs(!!) and great parking with AstroTurf pitches adjacent. The nicest place we've stayed so far (6 week trip) and totally worth the 5 stars.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It is the best place, we fell in love with it immediately ?. A lot of beautiful nature, wild trails, peace and quiet. At the camp we met two beautiful and friendliest dogs Max & Megan ?. Max accompanied us on walks every day ❤️?. A big thanks to Helena & David for the warm welcome, great stories, best barbeque & local vine! We will definitely come back again?. ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wonderful place, all the amenities required and are spotless, level pitches and water taps at regular intervals, the attention to detail for visitors is perfect. Cycling/ Hiking & Mountain biking trails are in all directions and loads of fun. Helena & David make you feel welcome as do their dogs Max & Megan The views are outstanding and this place is little gem on the edge of the Algarve.
