★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great spot. Affable English speaking host Joao who bakes fresh croissants daily. Cozy and warm in the wood-heated living room. Lovely walks in the little village. A friendly kitty hangs out in the wood shed. Room a bit cramped and never enough hooks and hangers. Overall excellent. Oh, also fresh squeezed orange juice, but don't expect bacon and eggs or fresh fruit.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We spent a weekend at Sotam House. This is a beautiful place to be at if you’re looking for relax. This house is surrounded by nature, quiet, and wonderful people. I’ve to say that one of the best things was meeting the owner. He’s a very nice person always checking up on you to make sure you’re having best time ever in Portugal. Plus he baked our breakfast; fresh homemade bread and delicious (homemade)jam....
A big thank you to the owner, he made us feel like at home and was friendly all the time with our dog ?. If we have the opportunity to come back, we will stay here for sure.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Positive: Old recovered house with a lot of character, furnished in a old style, typical from a grandma's. Fresh and handmade breakfast, and the super friendly host.. Negative: Bed and pillows not so comfortable, if the house is full it can be difficult to park outside. Our room had no bathroom (suite style), we had to walk through the living room and kitchen to get to bathroom (it can be uncomfortable passing through other guests). Soundproof between rooms is not good, you can hear other guests snoring. But that's part of the experience, due to the style of the house..

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Positive: A lot of thought had clearly gone into the decorating of the house. It was absolutely beautiful inside and out. John and Enna were wonderful hosts.. Negative: The kitchen needed more light. It was quite difficult to see the controls on the hob. A bin outside would have been useful..

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Positive: Very cute house and awesome garden! Really great breakfast and João was an above and beyond host - really nice guy!. Negative: We were a bit unlucky with two noisy girls who slept on the room above ours, so we could hear literally everything because the sound isolation is not that great (talking, music, etc.). Despite that, we recommend staying here and we would go back no doubt!.
