Special Surf 78 - Baleal

This was the best experience have had when it comes to learn a new sport :) Me and my wife stayed at Star Inn Peniche for 14 days and I surfed at the school for 11 days. I was a complete beginner, I only tried to surf once before so I booked 10 private lessons with the surf school, which in the end became 11 lessons because it was so fun :) They are super friendly and professional. I went from catching whitewater waves on a 9" (111L) board too paddling out alone (supervised from the beach) to the outer breaks and catch unbroken 1-1.5m waves with a 7"6' (65L) board. So they really can learn everyone to surf :) All the lessons had a clear goal which they explained. Every lessons was a progression for me which I felt was built on what was learned the lesson before. I always felt secure even in strong wind and "rough" water, with waves breaking everywhere and for me big waves (according to magicseaweed 1.8-2m waves one day). Apart from "just learn to surf" they also explained Surf Etiquette, how the ocean moved, tides, where to paddle out with channels, how to look at the wave too find the right spot and so on. I did not take any group lessons but I saw and talked to people who did and they seemed really happy as well. The location of the school is the best in whole Peinche. Only 50m to the beach and in 10 min you are surfing and best part they move to the right spot for your level on the beach and depending on the waves. I had Nuno and Augustina and both are superb teachers. I really recommend everyone to book with these guys. I know I will go back :)

Amazing surf school, me and my friend went just for one lesson to try surfing, and we ended up taking the whole surf course because the instructors were so good. I really liked their personal approach and continuous feedback what to pay attention in order to get better. And the owners Nuno and Edgar are very friendly and helpful.

We had a amazing experience here.?? Very nice and fun surfteachers. This is the place to learn techniques/skills❗ They give personal advise for every individual, so everyone can grow(Also in a big group). We were catching waves in our first lesson (Did not expect that) Seccond day was more wind, higher waves but still got some waves. Thank u guys? a lot.

We had a great time surfing with this surf school and made major progress even though we were beginners. It was very fun throughout the entire time and all coaches were very friendly, capable and motivated. Overall a truly amazing experience I can recommend!

We discovered Special Surf 78 2 years ago. We never thought it would be possible for my autistic daughter to stand on a surfboard. Well, it is!!! And she loves it. Special Surf 78 has a great team and teachers shilled to attend students with special needs.

One week Lessons for 4 French families (18 people from 5Y to 45Y) located in Peniche for holidays. Amazing experience. All was absolutely perfect. So perfect ! All the Team was so kind and so professional, we were 8 adults and 10 children , everything was so perfect : always good advices , good spots , very friendly !! Great surf experience, fantastic courses for kids (mine were 4 and 6 yo) in a very good ambiance they learn basic maneuvers with a very charming and dedicated staff for kids !! I also took private lessons for intermediate level and they bring me to different spots to surf different waves and improve skills… These guys are local people from Peniche, they work hard to improve their community and they are specialized in adaptive surf!! Congrats Nuno, Edgar and the rest of the team…we will be back with more friends!!
