★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We just had a great dinner at this cozy restaurant! Pork "bones," rice with red beans, black eyed peas with onion and parsley salad, fried peppers and a bottle of local Vinho Verde! Delicious, great smiling service, and reasonable price! Most enjoyable!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A hole in the wall. Simple cuisine, nice waitress, very good value for money. We had the grilled chorizo (fancy grilling at the table!), padron peppers, olive oil, pork sandwich. Recommended for a quick bite!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A very good place to eat traditional food for a reasonable price.
You will have a very typical portuguese gastronomic experience here, since the locals tend to make full meals out of starters and often finishing the meal with a smaller main course.
Do not plan to bring big groups here though, it is a very cosy place with a somewhat calm and romantic atmosphere to it.
If you like spicy food the "francesinha" option may live to your expectations, since it was a little bit too spicy for me. It did not however ruin my experience, since i was able to really enjoy it while tasting good quality ingredients.
The rice was cooked in a way that will sure bring back memories to any portuguese person since it is a traditional recipe often used in a lot of homes.
Overall, a place that respects the portuguese gastronomic tradition with good quality ingredients and proper cooking.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Little cozy restaurant right in the middle of Amarante. The traditional dishes are just amazing, specially if you like meat. The staff is also very friendly and welcoming. Prices are perfect for the quality. One of my new favourites in Northern Portugal. (covid-19 safe environment, following all the health and safety rules).
