★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Holy goodness was the food here amazing! It is small and I saw people begging to get in. Make a reservation if u can but if u can't get there really early! We had a lot of good food in Portugal but this was the tops!

Restaurant is cosy, and only seats the lucky ones who could score a table. So I hope you get lucky! Because this place is truly a gem!
Food quality here is impeccable! The dishes I ordered (seafood rice and the sausage, as I'm one person dining) blew my mind, and the two glasses of vino Verde I paired with were simply one of the best vino Verde I've tasted here in Portugal.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had dinner here and loved it! We came without reservations on a weekday night and waited a bit and got to sit at the table right outside the door :) We had the salt baked cod, lamb and fish soup - enjoyed the food and experience.

We entered the restaurant for the first evening service without reservation… which turned out to be big draw of luck.
As starters we had a fish soup and an excellent octopus salad (so tender so good).
The my wife had the liver (that was really good, I got the chance to finish that dish too) and I had the lamb ribs (which looked more like chops).
To close it off we had panna cotta and a piece of a apple pie crowned with meringue spikes.
If you don’t want be disappointed by not getting a table reserve it because it’s definitely worth it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Taberna dos Mercadores is a gem! A small restaurant near Ribera, I highly recommend making reservations in advance if you can as they have limited seating and are very popular. We had the shrimp with garlic as a starter, then the salt encrusted sea bass and half-portion of seafood rice for dinner. The shrimp was extremely fresh and flavorful. The sea bass was a little small, but was unique and the presentation was quite a show. The Seafood rice was excellent, and the half portion was more than enough for 2. With all the food, we were too full to have dessert. Prices were extremely reasonable. I cannot wait to return!
