★ ★ ★ ★ ★ When enjoying a great meal I thought this was a mountain in Switzerland, but in reality it was a hidden place in Portugal at Marão near a very small village Mafomedes. What a sight to see and what a meal we all appreciate.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Excelent place, in the mountain (Marão) in the North of Portugal, to eat meat (lamb and veal in particular). One of my favourite places to go. Very nice service and excelent selection of wines from the Douro and the Verde regions.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The view is awesome, staff is super friendly and helpful and the food is really good. We ate ”cabidela” and it was really tasty. The place is cosy and the service is fast. Wine is also good as well as desserts. The road to get to the restaurant it's a bit 'tricky' but the views are beautiful. Totally recommend it!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wow, what a fantastic little gem this is. Stunning views, the food is fabulous and the service was excellent. We came with our two children (1.5 and 5) and the staff were so accommodating and friendly. Delicious cod fitters, onions in vinegar, fresh bread, mushrooms with red onion and bacon, followed by AMAZING grilled lamb with greens from the village and delicious vino verde. (This was just what we had - all sorts on the menu but we went with the chef’s choice.) Worth a visit for sure.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Right i n the midle of nowhere in forgoten Douro landscape this is a modern style deck building with precious gem traditional food. Lam is the spaciallity here (they call it Anho). Also ask for Verde as a side dish. In the photo there's a Picanha with poptatos and green beans. Simply delicious. To come back from this lost montain top could be challenging so watch watch out for the drinks.
