★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ever since I read about The Literary Man in Travel & Leisure, I've wanted to visit. It took about a year to get to Obidos, but the wait was well worth it!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very stylish place , big rooms at a reasonable price in an amazing little medieval city. However there are no vegan options in the menu the kitchen prepared vegan pasta for us.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very friendly staff (we were leaving very early in the morning, they prepared snack for us instead of breakfast). Great dinner! Hallways and room were nice, very cozy.
Anyway, the bathroom does not have a door. And we heard every other guests during the night talking and walking in the hall.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The room was mediocre for the price.
Very bare-bones with a subpar bathroom (which didn't have a door for some reason), and uninteresting decor. Overall the build of the hotel seems very cheap with rough wooden planks, and not welcoming.
Mattress wasn't as comfortable as I expected, pillows were underwhelming and could hear noise from other rooms very clearly.
The staff was nice and breakfast was alright.
The book theme is comfy and cozy, but unless you're really into reading and willing to explore the books it doesn't add much.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Excellent ambiance with the books and the cozy fire place. However the prices are a bit ridiculous with respect to portion size. They are tiny. Let's knock those prices down about 15-20% otherwise I will just go here for an appetizer and drink then eat at another restaurant nearby.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Absolutely stunning hotel, a must-see for any book lover. The book-filled living and dining room was just divine, we spent many hours by the fireplace reading and relaxing, and I could not have asked for a better ambience. The staff was 5 stars, very kind and very efficient. The bed was lovely, the room was as well. The dinning experience was sublime, the food great. And being able to purchase second hand and rare vintage books at a discount price was only the icing on an already fantastic cake.
Overall an amazing experience, great value for your money, and specially, I highly recommend it to any reader because you will love the experience, I'm sure. We genuinely felt sad to go, and can't wait to go back honestly,

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This was a very adorable hotel! The hotel is quite literally lined with hundreds of books which you can read and they have a lot of very old interesting titles which looked like first edition copies published in 1900. The rooms themselves were very nice, and the food was amazing! They have a lot of options at breakfast and dinner was very nicely done as well. A little touch that I loved was that their menu items are named after books/authors. Can't recommend this place enough and I would have loved to have stayed here longer.
