I	Ian Guilherme on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Real Portugal can be found in this unsuspecting establishment. After a short hallway you'll walk straight towards the counter, with fresh ocean and river fish and meat displayed behind the glass and a well worn grill behind it, the centerpiece of this restaurant. The staff are all veterans, experienced in the ways of being Portuguese from the beer bellies to the moustaches to stopping every once in a while to take a glance at one of the many (many) television screens showing some sort of football match. Like in many portuguese restaurants, the entrees (cheese, ham, cottage cheese with jam) are incredibly appetizing and a little overpriced. The grilled fish is consistently outstanding; a fantastic way to introduce fish to those of our more carnivorous European friends is to order the Dourada. The meat is also excelent, febras de porco preto being a highlight, although they did not have the best cut picanha i've ever seen. A very extensive and pretty criterious wine list rounds out the meal, which is always fairly priced (about 15 euros per person all told) and almost guaranteed to be delicious. Don't mind the surly look of some of the staff, if you visit this place as often as we did you'll find them to be witty and very friendly in their own, uniquely portuguese way. With such a central location in the city there's very little excuse not to visit this place, but do take note this is not a luxury establishment by any means, just a place to have really good food and watch a game of "bola".

Keep in mind, all small bites they offer you when you sit down, are not free. But if you decide to eat them, they cost less than 2€ each i.e bread, olives and cheese. Overall great authentic Portuguese restaurant. All small bites, 2 meals and 1 and .25 bottle of wine cost 34€.
