Good value for money (1/2 portion is enough for one person). They also have vegetarian options. The staff is super friendly. Despite we were no official guests in the hotel, they were very hospitable when we walked in.

A perfect little hotel in a vale of wonderful mountains and magic. Looks like something coming out of a movie, when you walk out of the hotel in the morning and you look left towards the village. The price is very good, the service impeccable, the restaurant is charming and the rooms are very cozy!!!! ;)

Very nice and clean hotel at a very good and honest price. Private free parking. They clean the rooms everyday even though it's a 2 stars hotel. Breakfast was very good, various products and fresh fruits. Very recommended.

In respect of the restaurant only: We ate on Sunday afternoon in a party of 29 people, having pre-ordered from a choice of two dishes (chanfana and trout). Obviously such a large party presents some logistical problems, but we were well accommodated. There was a small starter of bread, olives and chouriço, but it was very small with only three or four olives each and one thin slice of chouriço each. We had arrived about an hour later than expected, which might explain why the trout was not particularly good. That did not explain, however, why the chinfana was such poor quality. If it had been my first chinfana, I might have assumed it would never be worth having again. It was made worse by being served with two pieces of plastic (I think they were the small plastic tags one finds holding things like a pair of socks together) in the meat. I had to pull them from my mouth The wine was from bottles and, although it said on the label that it had won an award, was really not good at all, which is highly unusual for a Portuguese restaurant. I couldn't finish my glass. I suspect that there was no intention to serve poor quality wine and that the proprietors had bought it expecting it to be ok. It would have been appreciated though if they had given sufficient attention to realise the shortcoming and provided some alternative. All in all, very disappointing.

We entered the restaurant at exactly 1900 hrs (according to the church's bells) and were looking forward to a hearty dinner after a long hike. In the dining room we found the owners family sitting and finishing their own dinner. The cook told us to "come back in five minutes or so" and within seconds we found ourselves back in the dark and cold night of Manteigas. I don't call this hospitality, consequenly we headed to another restaurant where we were immediately welcomed.
