Founded in 2004 Vinhos Cortém is a small organic winery set in the hills and valleys a few kilometres east of Caldas da Rainha.
About Vinhos Cortém
First 500 litresCortém sauvignon blanc, Viognier* bottled the first 500 litres of 2010 vintage this year and the wine is unique. It was a late harvest and the slow fermentation was not finished until January 2011. The result is a very heavy wine, over 15% Alc but with little remaining sugar. Typical but subtle tastes and aromas of Viognier and Sauvignon Blanc. Must be served very cold and is ideal as an aperitif or as a dessert wine.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Helga and Chris were very inviting and answered all of our questions. We had organic wines in California but did not like them. These wines were much different. We really enjoyed the Syrah and Jaen blend. Their English was great. It was a bit hidden but well worth the search.

Excellent hosts, Chris and Helga who truly know their stuff. Authentic Portuguese vinho for a fair price.
Make sure to call or email ahead (minimum 1 days notice) to ensure a booking. A bit tricky to find but well worth the adventure!
