★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Unassuming but lovely! Owner is very friendly and passionate about her food. African prawn starter and the Portuguese Pork Main were fantastic! Huge salads and all complimented with friendly service and lovely red wine! Would definitely recommend.

The food was delicious, the staff went out of their way to make me a delicious salad, with top quality tasty products.
The view is lovely, the restaurant is very pretty.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had an amazing meal with a nice salad and a fantastic fish course. We shared the fish “Corvina” (grilled) on four persons, and were all very satisfied. We have eaten a lot of Portuguese cuisine but this course and also the salad before were absolutely fantastic.

Creative, refreshing, original huge salads (the best in Tavira) along with a glass of crisp white wine and fresh bread. A gorgeous view along the river and cozy wooden tables and chairs. Most importantly the warmest, friendliest team making us feel at home. Julia, Anna and Beatrice are wonderful and take such good care of us. They are the heart and soul of this enchanting and delightful place.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We dined here in May so I searched for this business in Google Maps in order to leave a review. The business was not on Google Maps so I added it, left its first review in Google and uploaded a few photos. We enjoyed a very friendly service and juicy sardines for just 4.50 Euros (as shown in one of my photos)! Every other place in town told us that either sardines were out of season so they didn't have any or were charging 2-3 times as much. This is a short walk from the town centre on the way to the embarkation point for the ferry to the beach.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Sometimes you are lucky enough to find a restaurant you will forever be sorrowful you can’t call your own. Barquinha is just such a place. Lovingly and expertly prepared food by a wonderful family of women that treat you as a long forgotten friend. It simply doesn’t get better than this. You’d be a fool not to call ahead and book a table.
